CDelivery

Slack integration

Create a Slack app with Socket Mode, configure tokens and permissions, and bind your member ID.

Slack uses Socket Mode, so CDelivery does not need a public event callback endpoint. You need Slack app-management access and a CDelivery Admin account.

Create the app

  1. Create an app at Slack apps.
  2. Grant bot scopes chat:write, im:write, and im:history.
  3. Enable Socket Mode and create an app-level token with connections:write.
  4. Subscribe to message.im; enable the App Home Messages tab and allow users to send messages.
  5. Install the app in the workspace and obtain its bot token.
  6. Save the xoxb- bot token and xapp- app token in CDelivery’s Slack settings.

For group mentions, add app_mentions:read and subscribe to app_mention. Optional profile lookup uses users:read. Reinstall or approve updated scopes when Slack requires it. See the official Socket Mode guide.

Bind and verify

Copy your own Slack Member ID and enter it in your CDelivery account. Do not use a channel ID, app ID, bot ID, or display name. New bindings receive Slack notifications by default; you can turn them off.

Open a direct message with the app and ask a read-only question. AI replies also require a model.

Troubleshoot

Check that both tokens belong to the same installed app, Socket Mode is enabled, subscriptions and scopes are approved, and outbound connections work. If direct messages are unavailable, inspect App Home settings.

A missing avatar can be a profile-scope issue independent of messaging. Recheck personal identity and subscriptions if one user receives nothing. Binding another member’s ID exposes your account’s capabilities to that identity.
