Group management

Organize applications and shared communication while understanding naming and deletion constraints.

Groups organize applications and provide a common communication network. Names such as demo and production can express project or environment. Groups do not restrict account visibility.

Create and use

An Admin creates a group with a unique 1–16-character name using lowercase letters, digits, or hyphens, without leading/trailing hyphens or reserved names. An optional description can contain up to 256 characters.

Select the group when creating an application. Application names remain unique across the entire platform; another group does not allow reusing an existing application name. The console does not rename groups or move existing applications between them.

Verify the group and its applications, then test internal connectivity.

Maintain descriptions

Descriptions record purpose or ownership without changing scheduling or permissions.

An API patch that omits the description preserves it. Explicitly clearing the field removes it.

Delete and troubleshoot

If saving a group description fails, refresh the list and edit the description of the created group.

Remove or resolve applications and network references before deleting the group. Container cleanup is asynchronous, so a group can remain busy briefly after application deletion. Wait for task exit and inspect remaining references before retrying.

Group deletion does not clean application volumes. Record the server and volume names through volume management.

For connection failures, check group membership, destination port, listening interface, and server networking. For name conflicts, inspect existing groups before recreating resources.
