Discord integration

Configure a Discord bot and Gateway access, then bind your own Discord user ID.

Discord receives messages over the Gateway connection. CDelivery needs outbound network access, not a public event callback URL.

Create and install

  1. Create an application and bot in the Discord developer portal.
  2. Obtain the bot token, not the client secret or application ID.
  3. Install the bot in the intended server with permission to view channels and send messages; include sending in threads if you use them.
  4. Save its token in CDelivery’s Discord settings as an Admin.
  5. Enable Developer Mode in your Discord client and copy your own User ID.
  6. Bind that ID in your CDelivery account and select notification preferences.

See the Discord getting-started guide. The current integration handles direct messages and explicit mentions without depending on the privileged Message Content intent for arbitrary server messages.

Verify

Configure a model, then send the bot a read-only direct message or explicitly mention it in an allowed channel. Confirm that the result corresponds to your account’s current role.

A display name, server ID, channel ID, and application ID are not personal user IDs. Binding another person’s ID exposes your account’s notifications and operations to that identity.

Troubleshoot

Check bot installation, token validity, channel permissions, direct-message restrictions, Gateway connectivity, and personal binding. A bot appearing online does not prove it can send in every channel.

Inspect model configuration separately if message receipt works but AI responses fail. See notification troubleshooting for subscriptions and role filtering.
